About Our Business
Frank Monise Motors has been an established business
since 1949 in Pasadena California. Frank Monise started the
business due to the need for a mechanic who wasn't afraid
to work on the newly imported English cars. Frank started
with a few cars and slowly built up to overseeing most of the
English cars in the L.A. Area. Within a few years the thriving
business was moved into the current location at 1843 E.
Walnut. Many famous celebrities and racing drivers have
stood in the doorway seeking either a little work done to
their car or just to hang out and visit Frank. As with a lot of
small businesses, many generations have now come to work
at the shop. This starting with Frank Sr.'s  two sons Frank
Monise Jr. and Howard Monise. Frank Jr. has been working
at the shop since just after high school, having only missed
one year due to a tour in Vietnam. Howard had great interest
in cars but had even greater interest in motorcycle racing.
He worked at the shop for a short time before going to work
at Dan Gurneys All American Racers.
Frank Sr. retired in the early 1990s and Frank Jr. took over
the family business. Frank Sr., although retired, stayed very
much involved in the business as his oldest son took over
.
While his grandson joined the business in 1999.
Now over 15 years later Frank Jr. has been running the
business with both of his sons working with him, bringing in
the third generation and over
60 years of business.
